Description
Overview
Glass-smooth surfacing on boards up to 15 inches
The Powermatic 15HH is a 15-inch stationary planer with a helical cutterhead for smooth surfacing and reduced tear-out. Driven by a 3 HP single-phase motor on a 230V circuit, it is built for serious hobby and professional woodshops that need to process wide boards with consistent, high-quality results.
- ✓ 15-inch width, 6-inch thickness capacity
- ✓ Helical head with 74 carbide inserts
- ✓ 3 HP 230V single-phase motor
- ✓ Two-speed feed gearbox

Feature 01
Helical carbide cutterhead
The helical cutterhead carries 74 four-sided carbide inserts and runs at 4,500 RPM. The inserts shear the wood at an angle rather than chopping it straight on, which reduces tear-out on figured grain. Each insert can be rotated to a fresh edge when one becomes dull.

Feature 02
Capacity for wide stock
The planer handles boards up to 15 inches wide and 6 inches thick, with a maximum depth of cut of 1/8 inch at full width. That capacity lets you surface wide panels, tabletop stock, and thick lumber that smaller benchtop planers cannot accommodate.

Feature 03
Power and feed control
A 3 HP, 230V single-phase motor drives the cutterhead through a triple V-belt drive for efficient power transfer. The two-speed gearbox lets you choose a faster feed for stock removal or a slower feed for a finer finish on your final passes.

Feature 04
Built for the shop floor
A cast iron table with extension wings supports long boards, and top-mounted return rollers let you pass stock back over the machine. A 4-inch dust port connects to your collection system, and the welded steel stand with lockable casters lets you reposition the planer.
